"On a snow day anything can happen!"....or nothing.

Thursday afternoon, after coming home from a long, cold, and exhausting day of school, I checked the local weather station to see if the superintendent had decided to make my day by canceling school for Friday. Well, after much anticipation as my computer slowly, but surely, loaded all the schools that were to be closed, I was devastated, but not all that surprised, to see the list of schools jump from Floyd County to Gainesville County. I thought to myself, “What?! Not even Forsyth got out?! What is the world coming to?” The weather that day had denoted that school would be canceled for Friday. I was so upset. How could that happen? There’s a whole half inch (maybe) of snow on the ground! It was a perfectly logical reason to cancel school, if you ask me. I mean come on!
Forsyth County even got a half day that day which I believe we should have gotten as well. On my treacherous ride, of one mile, home, I witnessed two accidents almost occur. Everyone in Georgia forgets how to drive in in climate weather. Through my windshield, it looked as if I was in a snow globe. All around me snow was falling steadily. Thick round snowflakes hit the glass and gathered in the sections of my windshield where the windshield wipers don’t reach.
As I finally reached my long awaited, warm, cozy house, I did my homework in case the board of education decided to disappoint me, again. After performing the rest of my nightly routine, as I would on any normal school night, I got into bed and watched “Jersey Shore”. I know it’s a little off topic but seriously MTV needs to make dolls of all the characters on that show and have them say little catch phrases. For instance Mike, also known as “The Situation”, could say, “Chill out Freckles McGee.” So anyways, as I was saying I watched television and then after an hour of not being able to fall asleep, I finally started to nod off. Just as that was occurring I received a visit from my dad who walked into my room, tapped me on the shoulder, said we didn’t have school the next day, and left. It took me a second to process what he said because I was still groggy from my five minute nap. When I realized what he had said I was so excited, but still tired, so I fell back asleep.
In the words of the great Josh Peck, from the movie snow day, “on a snow day, anything can happen.” I hoped my snow day would be full of excitement and fun! However, because the roads were icy, no one could drive. Luckily I live in the same neighborhood as some friends so I hung out with them. We watched Final Destination. Although I liked watching the gore, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was pretty boring and the plot like was repetitive and predictable. After watching the movie, I went to sleep, woke up, and wrote my other five hundred word blog entry.
